Karmaveer Hire Arts, Science, Commerce and Education College is one of the foremost, institutions committed to the cause of social and spiritual welfare of people for over fifty years. This institution has been rendering service in the area of the education of rural masses.
When the college was established way back in 1961 and the science stream was introduced in 2007 on non- grant basis. In the year 2009 this stream was aided by government. One of the purposes with which the science stream of college was established was to produce scientific personnel, which was the need of the students from hilly and rural area of Bhudargad Tahsil.
Zoology is one of the science subjects, which was then introduced in the college. Since introduction of zoology, several dedicated teachers and students have contributed their share for the development of the department. The Department of Zoology is in the phase of development.
The teachers who have served in this department have not only taught students but also made efforts to prepare them to fit into teaching, research, government jobs and social service as well.

Our Department of Zoology promotes learning at all level of biological organizations (molecular, cellular, organismal, population, community and ecosystem). Our integrative focus reflects the importance of strong disciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches of zoology in teaching and research. We strive to create awareness in the students about life science which has direct dealing with their day to day life.

To promote the quality education for the study and broad communication of knowledge about biology of animals, including their importance and conservation.

•  The department is well equipped with two laboratories (museum cum Lab-I and Lab-2).
• It has dissection table and wooden stools.
•  The museum has nearly 100 bottle specimens and skeletons of     different animals etc.
•  25 visual charts of various animals
•  40 Animal photo models
•  05 stand models

• The department has nearly 80 books for the reference of the staff and students.
• The teachers and students also make use of the college library. It has more than 300 zoology books and journals on life science and natural science.

The faculty members make use of the various teaching aids, models, visual charts and specimens to enliven the classroom teaching. The department has course materials such as –

• Students are guided to collect the different types of insects and arrange them accordingly.
• Ponds observation around the Gargoti as a part of ecological study.
• Protozoan culture is made and studied by the students.
• Students are taken for bird watching in Gargoti, Patgoan Forest and nearby areas of Bhudargad.
• The department is proud about the achievements of the students. From the past six years they have achieved more than 70% results in all the semesters and annual pattern examinations. This in turn reflects the achievement of the teachers.
