The College was initially established as Karmaveer Hire Grambharati in 1950 in which the Diploma in Rural Services (Education, Co-operation and Social Work) and Diploma in Civil and Rural Engineering were started and affiliated to National Council for Rural and Higher Education, Delhi. It was designed to meet the objective of Institution mainly ‘Rural reconstruction through Education’ These courses supplied a number of Engineers, Teachers and Administrative officers to various financial Institutions all over Maharashtra during the last six decades.
In the course of time the college underwent some revolutionary changes. Diploma in rural Services (D.R.S.) in Education, was converted into B.A.B.Ed.(Special), DRS(Co-operation) was converted in to (Social Work). All these courses were permanently affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur as degree coursed in 1975. Again in 1990 B.A.B.Ed.(Special) course was redesigned as B.A.B.Ed.(Integrated), to meet the challenges in the field of Teacher Education.
